lost and found ︎
︎ After learning about the extreme excess amount of secondhand clothing that ends up overseas (in places like Kantamanto Market in Ghana and the Atacama Desert in Chile) from the surplus donations collected for charity and textile recycling programs, I wanted to carefully manage undesired clothes from my community to divert it from the waste stream. Many were donated to local nonprofits / grassroots groups (such as Covenant House, Toronto Indigenous Harm Reduction, Trans Pride Toronto, The Pegasus Shoppe, Scott Mission and Muslim Welfare Canada) when accepted based on their needs and depending on their capacity. Whatever was beyond repair and unwearable was shredded or deconstructed to be repurposed for future projects.
︎ Still collecting “textile waste” that have been washed and dried prior, please contact for pick up or drop off. ︎
